I was born in Portland, Oregon. I spent the next 18 years in Lake Oswego, Oregon. During my childhood, most of my days were spent within my imagination, exploring different stories that entertained me. I never realized that this would lead me to a career in writing. Especially since my English teachers were not so sure about my ability to even pass their class. It wasn't until my freshman year in High School that I found my passion for writing. My teacher's name was Mrs. Rathbun, and she changed my life. Her ability to inspire, and foster my storytelling talents enabled me to realize how much I enjoyed the creation of characters, themes, and story lines.

Unfortunately, I spent the rest of my High School experience not pushing myself in that direction. When I graduated, I went to the University of Oregon and studied Economics. I was trying to be "practical" and find a career that would lead me to a good living. What I didn't understand is that I wasn't happy with my life. I dropped out of school, and spent the next few years trying to start a real estate brokerage during the most tumultuous financial times since the Great Depression. I finally went back to school, and finished my degree. Then, something extraordinary happened on a cool summer night.

I went to bed early on June 26th, 2009. My dream took me through space, to an incredible world filled with amazing creatures that were as real and vivid as anything I had ever seen. In this world, there were trees the size of skyscrapers, and cities filled with architecture of every time in human civilization, and more. A story started to form. There was a conflict going on that engulfed the entire city into turmoil, and at the center of it was a baby. At the end of the dream, the baby was taken through a portal into our own world. I awoke suddenly, and began writing down every detail I could. By the time the sun came up, I had written 30 pages in a yellow notepad. I was possessed by this story, and so I began the journey of my book.

After 3 months, I had over 400 pages of writing. It was almost as if the process of finishing the book was a dream itself. I was completely entrenched in every aspect of the story, characters, and the incredible journey they were taking. Until I had finished the book, I had never even thought about publishing it. I had no idea how difficult it was. I spent the next 2 years editing, and searching for a literary agent to represent me. In the fall of 2010, I spontaneously moved to Sun Valley, Idaho. It was the best decision I have ever made. The majestic natural beauty of the area, and the new atmosphere gave me new energy to finish editing the book, and move forward with publishing it myself. Now, I will finish my journey, just as my characters do, but soon another adventure will begin and I will be starting the second book in the series; Sonora, and the Scrolls of Alexandria!
